Background
Alan Yeung is the Head of Mission Control Center for Southeast Analog and a graduate student in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech. His work focuses on mission operations, flight control systems, and spacecraft operations planning. Alan has extensive experience in NASA mission operations environments and has held multiple flight controller internship roles at NASA Johnson Space Center. His work has included supporting visiting vehicle operations, rendezvous flight dynamics, and human landing system piloting analysis. He has also worked on planetary mission systems engineering through the Mars Sample Return program at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Through these experiences, Alan has developed expertise in spacecraft operations, mission planning, and systems engineering. Alan will return to NASA Johnson Space Center in Summer 2026 as a civil servant working in the Flight Operations Directorate as a Visiting Vehicles and Rendezvous Flight Controller.
Research Experience
Alan has conducted research at the Georgia Tech Space Systems Design Lab, serving as GPDM Mission Operations Manager, former VISORS Mission Operations Lead, and former Lunar Flashlight Flight Director.

Alan’s interests include mission operations, spacecraft systems engineering, human space exploration, competitions, competitive contract bridge, Star Trek, tennis, flying, and storytelling through games & media.
